This year, the Shetty-Kundra household will not be celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi with the usual pomp. In an emotional note shared on Instagram, Shilpa explained that the family is observing a 13-day mourning. “Dear friends, with deep grief we regret to inform you, due to a bereavement in the family, this year we will not be holding our Ganpati celebrations,” she wrote.Even amidst the quiet observance, Shilpa signed off her note with heartfelt hope for the future: “Ganpati Bappa Morya, pudchyavarshi lavkar ya.”

Shilpa was last seen in “Sukhee” by Sonal Joshi in her directorial debut. The humorous slice-of-life tale follows a 38-year-old Punjabi housewife Sukhpreet “Sukhee” Kalra, who, sick of her routine existence, travels to Delhi to attend her high school reunion.
