'Good Bad Ugly' box office collection day 4: The Ajith starrer defeats Vikram's 'Veera Dheera Sooran', marches towards Rs 100 crore | Tamil Movie News

Ajith Kumar’s ‘Good Bad Ugly’ has delivered exactly what fans had been craving for – the return of the ‘vintage Ajith’ in full mass mode. Directed by Adhik Ravichandran, the film made a roaring start with Rs 30.9 crore (Gross) on its opening day in Tamil Nadu, marking the highest day-one collection in Ajith’s career. Known for staying away from overtly commercial formulas in recent years, Ajith embraced the fan-favorite style for this high-octane entertainer. The massive opening confirms the unwavering loyalty of his fan base and the strong pull his name still commands at the box office.

‘Good Bad Ugly’ proves more box office friendly than previous release

After a slight dip on Day 2, where it earned Rs 13.5 crore (Nett) in India, ‘Good Bad Ugly’ has proven to be more box-office friendly than Ajith’s February release ‘Vidaamuyarchi’, which opened strong at Rs 26 crore but dropped significantly to Rs 10.25 crore on Day 2. In contrast, ‘Good Bad Ugly’ has maintained steady growth, aided by its mass appeal, stylized action, and Ajith’s strong screen presence. The film’s fan support and buzz have contributed to its ongoing success, with expectations high for its performance on Sunday.

The film expected to see growth on day 4

The film earned Rs 22 crore on day 3, with predictions to reach Rs 25 crore on day 4 (Sunday). According to Sacnilk’s trade report, ‘Good Bad Ugly’ grossed Rs 14 crore till evening shows on day 4. The three-day domestic total made an impressive Rs 63 crore, while the overall collection of the film is said to be around Rs 80 crore. With the public holiday on Monday in the South, the film is expected to join the Rs 100 crore club soon.

Surpasses the numbers of Vikran’s ‘Veera Dheera Sooran

‘Good Bad Ugly’ is now among the top 5 grossing Tamil films of 2025, surpassing Vikram’s ‘Veera Dheera Sooran’. Only ‘Madha Gaja Raja’, ‘Vidaamuyarchi’, and ‘Dragon’ stand ahead for now. However, the Ajith starrer is expected to overtake them soon, especially ‘Dragon’, which currently leads the chart with Rs 83.6 crore (Nett) in India. Internationally too, the film has set new records for Ajith in territories like the UK and Malaysia, hinting at a long and successful run ahead.
