When it comes to health and fitness, Bollywood has several enthusiasts who have been setting goals for years. One name that never fails to impress is that of the Greek God, Hrithik Roshan. The ‘War’ fame star, even at the age of 51, refuses to slow down. From his workout regime to a balanced diet and disciplined routine, the actor doesn’t compromise. Recently, taking to his social media handle, Hrithik Roshan recently in a small yet impactful post shared the importance of portion control.Interestingly, he is not the only advocate of a balanced diet. His ‘Fighter’ co-star Deepika Padukone, who enjoys treating herself with delicacies, is also a firm believer in mindful eating. The actress, who recently turned 40, once candidly spoke about the same on her social media, and the internet is still reeling over it.
So let’s dive into the eating habits of these two Bollywood stars.
Hrithik Roshan’s fitness secret at the age of 51: Portion control
Taking to his social media handle, Hrithik Roshan shared a picture of his plate comprising various dishes. Yes, the man, whose ripped physique and chiselled abs cast a spell, shared an image of a plate full of various dishes. However, the number of dishes was high, but the portions were smaller. From roasted zucchini, carrots, and brussels sprouts, to lady fingers, red bell pepper, vibrant bell peppers, tandoori chicken tikka, to charred broccoli, green beans, moong and salad; the plate had it all, but in controlled portions. Then, there was another image with shredded beetroot, along with a banana. In the caption, Hrithik wrote, “Eat less, love better. But make the plate look huge.”With this, Hrithik enjoyed a meal packed with protein, fibre, essential vitamins and antioxidants. Not to forget, the flavonoids, minerals, and vitamins offered by beetroot and the potassium by banana.
Deepika Padukone’s fitness mantra at 40: A balanced diet
In March 2024, Deepika Padukone shared a post that had a collage of a pancake with ice cream, a samosa, and what looked like a brownie and some more ice cream. Multiple snacks, but again in small portions. With the post she wrote, “Surprised to see this on my feed? Well, I eat! And I eat well! Ask anyone who knows me. So don’t believe anything else you might hear or read.”She continued, “The trick? Balance, Consistency and Listening to YOUR Body.”“There seems to be a lot of misunderstanding around the word ‘Diet’. We often believe that ‘Diet’ means to starve, to eat less and to eat all of the things we detest. What ‘Diet’ really means is the total of all the food and drink consumed by an individual. The word actually comes from the Greek word “diaita,” which means “way of life.” I’ve always, for as long as I can remember, followed a ‘Balanced Diet’. And it is for me ‘a way of life’. I’ve never followed a diet that I cannot be consistent with or one that is a fad. Now, do I indulge? Of course, I do, as demonstrated above!😅 But it most certainly isn’t my way of life. Ever heard the phrase ‘you are what you eat?’ If there’s one thing I’ve learnt (the hard-ish way) is that those words couldn’t be truer,” she added.
