Popular Gujarati singer Kinjal Dave has finally spoken about the engagement controversy that was spreading on social media. In a long video shared on Instagram, she clearly explained her side and strongly defended her family, especially her father.
Why Kinjal decided to speak now
Kinjal said she stayed quiet for a long time because the talk was only about her. But things changed when her family was dragged into it.“But when it comes to my family and my father, I cannot handle it as a daughter,” she said.She added that her father’s self-respect matters the most to her, and that is why she felt it was necessary to speak.

Kinjal openly attacked people who try to control daughters’ lives.“Even in modern times, some antisocial elements are trying to decide rules for daughters,” she said.She spoke against child marriage, dowry, and forcing women to live behind veils. She reminded everyone that daughters today are pilots, soldiers, scientists, and leaders.“How can a few unsociable people decide that they do not have the right to choose their daughter’s life partner?” she asked.
Pride in her family and new chapter
Talking about her future, Kinjal said she is proud of her upbringing and her beliefs.“I am so proud to be a Brahma Kanya and a Brahma Dikri,” she said.She also praised her future in-laws, calling them devotional and respectful. “Whatever I am, they have accepted me with great respect,” Kinjal shared.

Addressing cheating and broken engagement claims, Kinjal said she chose to walk away when problems came.“When this problem came, I decided that I will not stay in this relationship,” she said.She made it clear that her decision was taken to protect her family.
