Is JD Vance jealous of Zohran Mamdani? Fox News anchor says Trump prefers the socialist as his ‘running mate’

Date:

In a surprising twist, President Trump’s inviting Oval Office conversation with Democrat socialist Zohran Mamdani has seemingly left Senator JD Vance feeling overshadowed, as reported by Fox News. Despite their differing ideologies, Trump complimented Mamdani’s ‘rational’ approach and identified areas of agreement, contrasting sharply with his previous critiques.

It looks like JD Vance was not too happy seeing his icon meeting one of the most hated figures by MAGA and getting all chummy.Fox News presenter Brian Kilmeade suggested that the vice president may be feeling a little upset after President Donald Trump held a warm meeting with New York City mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani at the Oval Office on Friday. The GOP leader and the Democrat socialist met behind closed doors before appearing together to brief reporters. The POTUS repeatedly praised Mamdani, calling him a “very rational person” and saying he would feel comfortable living in New York under his administration. Trump said that Mamdani and him have a lot in common and that “some of his ideas are really the same ideas that I have.”During the almost 1 hour exchange, Trump was seen smiling at Mamdani, shaking his hand and patting him on the arm. Kilmeade floated the idea that the duo getting too close might have unsettled the vice president. “I think JD Vance is jealous. I think the president wants to use him as a running mate,” the anchor said on air, before noting that Trump cannot legally serve a third term. Kilmeade added that “they got along fantastic” and later described the meeting as “a love-fest” and “a respect-fest.”Vance has previously said on a podcast that one of the three people he would invite to dinner, living or dead, would be Trump, even though the president is “regularly accessible to him,” reports the Daily Beast. So far his only public reaction to the high-profile encounter has been a brief post on X celebrating Trump’s response to questions about Mamdani’s past comments. “POTUS has a lot of good moments but this is an all-timer,” Vance said. Whether he was coping or not, nobody knows.Trump also softened his earlier attacks on Mamdani, whom he had called a “communist lunatic” during the campaign. Mamdani himself has called the POTUS a “fascist” on several occasions before his campaign.
