Date:

NEW DELHI: Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi on Wednesday expressed disagreement with Infosys co-founder Narayana Murthy’s view on work-life balance and said that it represents a privilege traditionally enjoyed by men and “has to forego in the modern world.”
Taking to X, Gogoi countered Narayan Murthy and said, “After all what is life but looking after your children, cooking for them, teaching them, taking care of your elderly parents, being there for your friends in their times of need, making sure that your house in order. The above is just as much a man’s job as it is a women’s.”

“Traditionally working women don’t even have the choice to cut away life from work. It is a luxury that traditionally men have and one that they have to forego in the modern world,” his post added.
At the CNBC Global Leadership Summit, Narayana Murthy had advocated for a 70-hour workweek, considering it crucial for India’s economic advancement.
Narayana Murthy’s statement, “I don’t believe in work-life balance,” has initiated widespread discussions on this topic.
