Duffer brothers open up about the ‘Stranger Things’ spin-off
Talking to The Hollywood Reporter, the creators of ‘Stranger Things’ delved into what the spin-off show will be about. No release date has yet been announced. The two brothers firstly confirmed that the events of the new series will happen with new people, a new cast and characters, and in a different timeline altogether. Matt further added, “I’ve been pinned down and forced to blow this already, so I might as well tell you. There are lingering questions about the rock and where the rock came from [in Henry’s story in the finale], and the scientist and all of that. Because we had said that there is something in the finale that is going to connect to the spinoff. The spinoff is not about rocks or mining the rocks, but I would say that’s the loose end that’s not tied up that will be tied up.”
The new series will answer some leftover questions about the themes of ‘Stranger Things’
Matt further reflected on the new show, citing that it will explore something completely different and will have a whole “new mythology” to it. “It’s not specifically about the Mind Flayer or the Upside Down, but hopefully it provides some answers to that, at least those lingering questions related to Henry’s memory,” he concluded. The spin-off had been confirmed in 2022, however no other information has been shared with the public.
