While the US contributed a healthy $21.3 million, the film’s reception in India was more subdued with earnings of Rs 2.52 crore.

The third instalment of the popular heist-magic franchise, Now You See Me Now You Don’t, has delivered a contrasting box office performance modest in India but spectacular across the globe. Starring Jesse Eisenberg, Mark Ruffalo, Woody Harrelson, Dave Franco, Isla Fisher, Morgan Freeman, Rosemund Pike and Lizzy Caplan. In the United States of America the film grossed a solid USD 21.3 million over the weekend while the second installment had collected USD 22.4 million and first part has collected USD 29.4 million. In India, the film registered a Rs 2.52 crore opening weekend, performing in line with expectations for an English-language thriller that relies heavily on franchise awareness. It started on a low note with Rs 60 lakh on Friday but picked up sharply on Saturday, collecting Rs 98 lakh but the film dropped on Sunday to collect Rs 94 lakh thereby taking the three-day total to Rs 2.52 crore.Internationally, Now You See Me Now You Don’t registered the BIGGEST 5-day international opening of the franchise with USD 56.6 million, thanks largely to a massive USD 21.6 million debut in China, where the series continues to enjoy strong fan loyalty. The film also posted a solid $21.3 million weekend at the US box office, reinforcing the franchise’s enduring appeal. With a production budget of $90 million (excluding marketing),the film is banking on its international release to take the film into the profit zone. Combining its US and international numbers, Now You See Me Now You Don’t has achieved a USD 77.9 million global opening, putting it on track for one of the strongest runs of the franchise. The impressive worldwide debut has overshadowed its India performance, proving once again how international markets especially China have become critical for Hollywood tentpoles.
