Ranchi: The Jharkhand high court on Tuesday rejected the bail application filed by former Hazaribag deputy commissioner (DC) and suspended IAS officer Vinay Choubey.The court of Justice Sanjay Kumar Dwivedi had on Monday heard the matter on Choubey’s plea for bail and reserved its order.Choubey has preferred his application for bail before the Jharkhand high court after it was rejected by the special judge anti-corruption bureau (ACB) in Hazaribag on September 16 last year.Choubey has been made an accused by the ACB for being involved in the illegal sale of sewayat lands in Hazaribag during his tenure as the deputy commissioner of the district.He is also an accused in the liquor scam case.He is in custody since May 20 last year.
