Former WANNAONE member Kang Daniel has been thriving as a solo artist lately. The singer is currently in the US to perform at some venues as part of his very own world tour. While the idol has been facing some challenges, most of his shows have been going forward smoothly. However, recent events brought the artist nothing but problems. As per recent reports, the idol was robbed of his equipment, amongst other things, right before one of his US shows.
Kang Daniel was robbed right before the concert
The singer shared a social media update on September 23 that sent fans into shock. While posing for a selfie with a thumbs-up gesture, the idol revealed that he and his crew had been robbed. He revealed that, “We got all our stuff stolen—outfits, hair, and makeup tools, even MD goods”.Even though the artist underwent a lot due to this, he still managed to keep the enthusiastic energy going. In the same story update, the idol added, “Still, let’s make it a great show. I’m okay.” Following the update, his management agency also issued a statement and more details about the incident online. They shared that the robbery had happened on September 22, while he was traveling from Los Angeles to San Jose for his next concert. The thief had reportedly broken into their official vehicle at the venue, and had taken everything, from costumes to styling equipment and merchandise as well. Replacements were purchased by the staff members from nearby malls and shopping complexes right then and there to ensure that the San Jose set goes as smoothly as possible.
Fans react
As soon as the news became public, fans and netizens alike came online to praise the idol as well as his team for their resilience. Many pointed out that something like this almost called for canceling the show; however, they still managed to pull through with what they could find. One comment about the matter read, “Despite the setback, he put on an awesome show. His team had to scramble to rent/replace what they lost and ended up going to H&M for his stage outfits. They need to give him a brand deal for how many times he called himself H&M Guy,” while another comment read, “He should get something, for still standing strong when everything just going down hill for him.”Earlier this month, one of the idol’s concerts during his North American tour was canceled even though fans had already assembled at the venue due to technical difficulties. The idol had to come up on stage as the concert was set to begin and announce the bad news. While fans were reimbursed for their tickets, the singer had still faced backlash at the time over the abrupt change.
