A thoughtful gesture on set
Actress Kim Hee-sun shared a touching moment of friendship with Song Hye-kyo on September 18 through Instagram. Kim expressed gratitude toward her longtime friend, saying her current filming site turned brighter with Song’s thoughtful gift. According to MK Sports, Song sent both a coffee truck and a snack truck to the set of Kim’s TV Chosun drama ‘There Is No Next Life’.
How their friendship began
The two actresses first grew close more than a decade ago through mutual acquaintances in the entertainment industry. Since both were leading figures in Korean dramas of the late 1990s and early 2000s, they often met at events and award ceremonies. Over time, their shared experiences as top stars during Korea’s drama boom strengthened their bond into a genuine friendship that has endured well beyond the spotlight.
Song Hye-kyo’s heartfelt message
Along with the gifted trucks, Song left warm notes to encourage Kim. She told staff and actors to enjoy the food and stay strong while praising her “sister Hee-sun.” She also asked viewers to give lots of love to Kim. The sweet gesture highlighted their close bond, proving that their connection has lasted through years of busy schedules and evolving careers.
Kim Hee-sun’s grateful response and drama
Kim did not hesitate to respond with appreciation. She thanked Song publicly, with affectionate words that once again proved the strength of their mutual respect. Currently, Kim is filming ‘There Is No Next Life’, a weekend drama directed by Sung Do-joon and written by Shin I-won. The story focuses on three friends in their forties facing a “second puberty” while dealing with personal challenges. Kim plays Jo Na-jung, a once-promising show host and mother of two who takes on the uphill journey of reclaiming her career. The drama is set to premiere in November.
