DiCaprio put forward the idea of looking back at your career 20, 30, 40, and 50 years from now, which helped build a building from the little blocks. “The thing that I could say more than anything is that if you love this profession, if you love being an actor, you have to realize that it’s a marathon, it’s not a sprint,” he said in a conversation with Deadline. Moreover, the ‘Inception’ actor claimed that overexposure could be damaging. While he said that the concept of social media didn’t exist when he started his career, he had instincts about overexposure early in his career. “It was a time where I watched actors that kind of disappeared their personal life, and you didn’t know much about them,” he said, adding that it’s much different in the age of social media. Furthermore, Leonardo DiCaprio talked about doing films over time, and not inundating a massive amount of films in one or two years.

“I said with Titanic, that was the real changing point, when I got to choose my own films. But until then, I did a lot of independent movies,” he said, adding that he went for the characters whom he found the most interesting and that he could sink his teeth into.
