Famous Nepali actor Sunil Thapa has passed away in Kathmandu after a suspected heart attack. He worked in more than 300 Nepali films and was loved for his acting. He also appeared in Hindi movies, including Priyanka Chopra’s ‘Mary Kom’, and in Raj and DK’s web series ‘The Family Man Season 3’ with Manoj Bajpayee. Manoj Bajpayee took to Instagram on Saturday to express his sorrow. Sharing a heartfelt note on his story, the actor wrote. “It’s so so sad! God bless your soul sir! My 3rd season TFM memories will live forever because of you!”, accompanied by red heart emojis. His message showed how deeply the veteran actor’s death affected him and how much he valued their time together during ‘The Family Man’ shoot.

According to a report by The Kathmandu Post, Sunil Thapa passed away on Friday morning while being treated at Norvic Hospital in Thapathali, Kathmandu. He was reportedly brought in unconscious after a sudden deterioration in his health. Doctors confirmed his death through an ECG conducted at 7:44 a.m. Though cardiac arrest is suspected to be the cause, the official medical report has not yet been released. A hospital representative told The Kathmandu Post, “He was unconscious when he was brought in. An ECG was done immediately, which confirmed his death”.
Sunil Thapa’s early career and Bollywood journey
Starting his career as a model in Mumbai during the mid-1970s, Thapa later ventured into acting. His first film appearance came with the 1981 Hindi movie ‘Ek Duuje Ke Liye’, which marked the beginning of his journey in Bollywood. Over the years, he featured in several films including ‘Aaj Ki Awaaz’, ‘Manav Hatya’, and ‘Albela’. He also portrayed Priyanka Chopra’s coach, Narjit Singh, in the 2014 biographical film ‘Mary Kom’.
