Massive seizure in IT raids

BHOPAL: The Income Tax Department has uncovered a staggering 52kg of gold and Rs 10 crore in cash from an abandoned vehicle in a forested area near Mandora village in Bhopal.
Officials have linked this discovery to recent widespread raids targeting real estate and construction firms across three districts in Madhya Pradesh including Bhopal, Indore and Gwalior.
Simultaneous raids were launched on Wednesday at 6:45am, covering 52 premises in Bhopal, Indore, and Gwalior.
A primary focus of the investigation is Trishul Construction Company, owned by Rajesh Sharma, along with individuals connected to him.
Officers have found 25 lockers and around Rs 5 cr crore in cash.
Large quantities of documents, jewellery, mobile phones, and hard disks containing critical data confiscated.
Evidence of tax evasion involving cash deposits linked to land transactions.
Companies such as Quality Group, Ishan Group, and Trishul Construction Group are under scrutiny, along with Sharma’s associates, including property dealers Deepak Bhavsar, Vinod Agarwal, and Rupam Shivani.
The investigation revealed Sharma’s significant influence, including his contract to build CM Rise Schools and ties to a former BJP minister. Officials anticipate further revelations in this multi-crore scandal in the coming days.
