Ahmedabad-based startup Matter Motors has launched the Matter Aera electric motorcycle in Bengaluru. Interested customers can Pre-book the motorcycle with prices starting from Rs 1.88 lakh (ex-showroom). As a limited-time offer, the company is offering the first 500 riders at a special starting price of Rs 1.79 lakh, including a lifetime free battery warranty worth Rs 15,000. The company will also soon open an experience hub in Bengaluru which will let the customers see the bike in person and take test rides.
The Aera motorcycle is available in two variants – 5000 and 5000+ and the e-motorcycle is a unique proposition since it is the only electric motorcycle in the country to get a gearbox. It gets a 4-speed sequential gearbox paired with a liquid-cooled e-motor. It’s powered by a fixed 5 kWh lithium-ion battery pack and has a claimed range of 125 kilometres. Features-wise, it gets a 7.0-inch instrument cluster that displays navigation, ride data, calls, music and more.
It also gets connected tech with OTA updates. There’s also a mobile app that shows real-time bike data, remote lock capabilities, geo-fencing and service alerts. It gets dual disc brakes with ABS, telescopic front fork and dual rear suspension. The battery pack and the Aera both come standard with a 3-year warranty. Company also claims, it has just 25 paise/km and over one lakh plus savings over three years. Following Bengaluru, the company said it will roll out Aera across other key Indian cities in a phased manner.
