Meta accidentally leaks Smart Glasses Display announcement ahead of Connect 2025

In a surprising slip-up, Facebook-parent Meta accidentally leaked its own announcement about its new smart glasses display days ahead of its highly anticipated Meta Connect 2025 event. As reported by Business Insider, the company published a premature blog post revealed its next-generation wearable tech — smart glasses featuring a built-in display. However, the company quick took down the blog post. But, before the post was taken down, some of the followers and tech journalists managed to capture screenshots and shared the news across social media.

Meta Smart Glasses leaked ahead of official launch

According to a report by Business Insider, the leaked Meta announcement hinted at a major update coming to Meta’s existing Ray-Ban stat glasses. As per the leaked blog post, the company is integrating augmented reality features and real-time information overlays. The new display-equipped glasses are also expected to be part of Meta’s boarder push into spatial computing segment along with Quest headset lineup and AI-powered assistants.Meta has not yet commented on the leaked blog post, but the timings of the leak suggest that the product will be showcased at the upcoming Meta Connect event. For those unaware, Meta Connect is company’s annual event where it showcases its latest innovations in AR, VR, and AI. The event is also expected to feature updates on Meta’s collaboration with Ray-Ban and Oakley, signaling a deeper integration of fashion and tech.This is not the first time that Meta has had a premature reveal. Earlier also the company has accidentally revealed the details about its upcoming product launches via app updates, developer documentation, and marketing misfires.
