Middle East conflict disrupts aviation: Around 100 international flights cancelled at Delhi, Mumbai airports

The ongoing conflict in the Middle East has begun to affect international aviation operations in India, with around 100 international flights cancelled at the Delhi and Mumbai airports on Saturday, PTI reported citing official.At Mumbai airport, 35 departures and 36 arrivals were cancelled, while at Delhi airport, 22 departures and 17 arrivals were cancelled.Delhi International Airport Ltd (DIAL), which operates the national capital’s airport, said some west-bound international flights could face delays or schedule changes due to the evolving situation in the region.“Due to the current situation in the Middle East, some west-bound international flights may experience delays or schedule changes,” DIAL said in a post on X.The disruptions come as the conflict involving the United States, Israel and Iran, which began on February 28, has significantly affected flight routes and operations across the region.Several airspaces in the Middle East remain closed, forcing airlines to reroute flights or suspend services. As a result, many carriers are operating only a limited number of flights on affected routes.
