Navy aircraft crashes in South Korea's Pohang; investigation underway

A South Korean navy patrol plane with four people on board crashed during a training flight on Thursday, the navy informed AP. The aircraft took off from its base in the southeastern city of Pohang at 1.43 PM but went down for reasons that remain unclear, according to an official statement. The navy said it is currently working to confirm the condition of the four individuals aboard and to determine the cause of the crash.Rescue workers and fire trucks were dispatched to the crash site after residents reported seeing an unidentified object falling from the sky followed by an explosion.Pohang’s Nambu police station confirmed the aircraft involved was a navy patrol aircraft. However, authorities said it was too early to confirm whether there were any casualties or injuries.
