Neelam Kothari, who is known for her performances in many movies from the 1980s, made a comeback with the OTT reality series ‘Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives‘ in 2020. While promoting the third season of the show, she spoke about an old incident with Chunky Panday, where he was riding a bike for a scene, and she flew off the vehicle in her wedding dress.
In a new interview with Galatta India, Neelam Kothari shared a memorable anecdote from working with Chunky Panday on his debut film, ‘Aag Hi Aag‘.She recounted a climactic scene where her character is about to marry someone else, and Chunky’s character, in true “hero” style, arrives on a motorbike to rescue her. Although initially hesitant to ride with him, Neelam said that Chunky managed to convince her to hop on the bike.

She recalled that he accidentally performed a wheelie, causing her to fall off the bike in her wedding dress, with the vehicle landing on her. “He doesn’t know how to ride a bike. He’s done a wheelie, and I have flown off with my wedding dress, and the motorbike has fallen on me. My whole leg was burnt, thanks to him,” she stated. She jokingly added that she felt like killing him.
After the accident, Neelam asked Chunky Panday to use a body double for the scene, but he insisted on doing it himself. She also revealed that Chunky would make her wait on the sets of ‘Aag Hi Aag’. Neelam recounted an incident where she was ready with her makeup, but Chunky went to the bathroom during the shot, forcing her to get ready again.
‘Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives’ also features Maheep Kapoor, Seema Sajdeh, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, Kalyani Chawla, and Shalini Passi.
