On what would have been the legendary actor Rishi Kapoor’s 73rd birthday, his wife Neetu Kapoor and daughter Riddhima Kapoor Sahni paid emotional tributes on their social media handles. Celebrating his enduring legacy and the warmth he left behind, Neetu took to her Instagram handle to share a throwback clip from the talk show ‘Khullam Khulla’ where Rishi featured on the hot seat and had his family and friends in the audience to cheer him on. Riddhima’s emotional tribute

In her own post, daughter Riddhima shared a heartfelt message honouring her father in a post that read, “We celebrate you every day Papa. You are loved, missed and remembered — always. Happy Birthday. Love you…”She shared a throwback photo that saw Rishi smiling away with son-in-law Bharat along with Riddhima, Neetu and granddaughter Samara. The photo was believed to have been taken during Neetu’s birthday celebrations with the family in New York.

Friends send their wishes

The actor’s family friends, including Nitasha Nanda sent her birthday greetings and posted a happy throwback photo. Pammy Gautam also shared her note of love that read, “A special day, for a very special friend.”

Rishi’s sudden demise

Rishi Kapoor was diagnosed with leukaemia in 2018 and went to New York City for treatment. After successful treatment for a year, he returned to India. However, he died on 30 April 2020, reportedly due to the recurrence of leukaemia.

Carrying on family tradition

These tributes of love come after Neetu and her son Ranbir were seen last week, performing aarti during the Ganpati Visarjan festivities. The video showed Ranbir carrying the Ganesh idol in his hands and chanting, ‘Ganpati bappa moraya’. The actor even broke the coconut before seeking the final blessing of Bappa before bidding him goodbye.

Personal life

The Kapoor family is rumoured to be coming together for grand Diwali festivities, reportedly set to take place at their swanky new home which, according to reports, is all set for its grand housewarming ceremony.On the work front, Ranbir and his wife Alia Bhatt will soon be seen sharing screen space yet again in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Love and War’. The film will see the two reuniting with actor Vicky Kaushal.
