Ong Seong Wu’s fan club donates 5.2M KRW to Habitat for Humanity Korea on his birthday

Date:

Habitat for Humanity Korea has announced a generous donation of 5,240,825 KRW (approximately $3,950 USD) from Ong Seong Wu’s fan club, ‘DC Inside Ong Seong Wu Gallery’, in celebration of his birthday today, August 25. This substantial contribution will support the organization’s efforts to build homes for the families of Korean independence activists.
The donation is particularly meaningful, as it merges the two important dates – Ong Seong Wu’s birthday with the anniversary of his official fan club ‘WELO’, which celebrates its own founding on May 24. Fans who contributed to this cause shared their motivation, stating, ‘In honor of actor Ong Seong Wu’s birthday, we wanted to express our gratitude by remembering the sacrifice and dedication of independence activists. We hope this contribution can help improve the living conditions of their descendants”.
Habitat for Humanity Korea has expressed their appreciation, noting, “We are thankful to the fan club for demonstrating such positive influence. The valuable donation will be transparently used to support the families of independence activists living in poor housing conditions”, as quoted by AllKpop.
Ong Seong Wu, who enlisted in the military in April of last year, is currently serving and is expected to be discharged in October. Known for his debut as a member of the project group Wanna One from ‘Produce 101 Season 2’, Ong Seong Wu has also gained recognition for his acting roles in various dramas and films.
