Fans of the popular Panchayat franchise finally have a reason to celebrate. The makers have officially announced Season 5 during the Prime Video 2026 release slate event held in Mumbai. The show features Jitendra Kumar in the lead, alongside Raghubir Yadav, Neena Gupta, Faisal Malik, Chandan Roy, Saanvika, Durgesh Kumar, Ashok Pathak, and Sunita Rajwar in key roles.

According to the makers, the new chapter will see Abhishek dealing with a difficult work environment under a new and vengeful leadership. While he plans to move forward with his dream of pursuing an MBA, he will first have to resolve unfinished matters in the village.

What to expect from Season 5

Panchayat, produced by The Viral Fever and directed by Deepak Kumar Mishra, has built a loyal fanbase over the years for its rooted storytelling and relatable characters. The series is written by Chandan Kumar.The show features Jitendra Kumar in the lead, alongside Raghubir Yadav, Neena Gupta, Faisal Malik, Chandan Roy, Saanvika, Durgesh Kumar, Ashok Pathak, and Sunita Rajwar in key roles.

The previous installment, Panchayat Season 4, was released on Prime Video on June 24 last year. The third season had arrived earlier in May and revolved around village politics, elections, and the everyday struggles of the residents, including the long-pending demand for a proper road in Phulera.The show has also explored themes of grief, unity, and community life, making it one of the most loved slice-of-life series in recent times.
