Bhojpuri superstar Pawan Singh has stunned fans by walking out of the reality show ‘Rise and Fall’ mid-way, becoming the second high-profile exit after wrestler Sangeeta Phogat. The show was hosted by Ashneer Grover.
A shocker for fans and contestants
Ever since his entry, Pawan Singh was regarded as the “TRP king” of the season. His sudden exit, therefore, left both fans and contestants surprised. While leaving, Pawan Singh told the housemates that he was “never really a contestant, just someone who came for a short while.”
Social media reactions to Pawan Singh’s exit
Soon after the news broke, fans took to Twitter and Instagram to share their disbelief. One fan wrote, “Pawan Singh’s style is truly unique; he always stays in his own vibe. Even after leaving the show, the fact that he’s still in the spotlight shows his star power.” Another user alleged something more serious, posting, “He has been excluded because of bad behavior.” A third added, “They only call people from UP and Bihar to use them, and once they get the TRP, they throw them out.”Losing two popular faces back-to-back — first Phogat and now Pawan Singh — has changed the dynamics of Rise and Fall.
Pawan Singh’s recent controversy
Meanwhile, away from the show, controversy has struck Bhojpuri entertainment circles. A Haryanvi actor-singer Anjali Raghav had recently accused Pawan Singh of inappropriate behavior at a promotional event in Lucknow on August 27. The actress later revealed in a video on her Instagram that she is quitting from the Bhojpuri film industry. In the social media video Anjali said, “Some people are blaming me. Some memes say, ‘She was smiling, enjoying herself.’ Do you think if someone touches me in public, I would feel happy about it? That I would enjoy it? “Jab baad mein maine apne team member se pucha ki kuch laga hai, unhone kaha ki kuch bhi nahi laga tha. Tab mujhe bohot zyada bura laga, gussa aaya aur rona bhi aaya (later, when I asked my team member if anything had shown, they said nothing had. That’s when I felt really bad—I got angry, and I even cried.”
