The actress also spoke with grace about Ashish’s current wife, offering a candid look at how she navigates personal choices and public attention.
Handling media scrutiny
Talking about the media attention surrounding her separation, Piloo had told Hindustan Times that she had to prove herself and stay strong. She added that she believes everything will eventually fall into place and the bigger picture will become clear.
She recalled that the interview had gone viral, with many people discussing it passionately. While most comments were positive, around 20–30 frustrated individuals spread negativity, questioning the divorce and suggesting ulterior motives. She added that such reactions are part of life, but she no longer pays attention to them.
Decision to retain Vidyarthi surname
In another old interview with News18, she spoke about her choice to keep the ‘Vidyarthi’ surname and her views on love today. Her Instagram still reads “Piloo Vidyarthi.” She explained that changing a surname in India can be complicated, with issues like updating her Aadhar card. For her, the name carries personal significance, and she sees no reason to change it. She added that neither she nor Ashish has any issues with it, and she doesn’t feel the need to prove anything by altering her surname. The actress also spoke about Ashish’s current wife, Rupali, with grace and composure. She noted that Rupali now uses her maiden name, Barua, and said that while Piloo continues to use Vidyarthi, Rupali has never had any issue with it. Piloo added that Rupali is a very simple and understanding person.
