RIP Satish Shah: Anupam Kher and Rakesh Bedi break down as they mourn their close friend’s demise, ‘Aise thodi na hota hai?’ | Hindi Movie News

Date:

Just hours after the news of Satish Shah’s passing sent shockwaves through the industry, his closest friends and colleagues, Anupam Kher and Rakesh Bedi, shared emotional tributes remembering the late actor. Shah, who passed away on October 25 at the age of 74 due to kidney failure in Mumbai, was one of Indian cinema’s most beloved comic talents and an irreplaceable part of its golden generation of actors.

“Mere Shah, mere Jahapana…”: Anupam Kher breaks down in Switzerland

Anupam Kher, who shared a long and affectionate bond with Satish Shah since their Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge days, couldn’t hold back his tears while remembering his friend. Speaking from Switzerland, where he was visiting a DDLJ shooting location, Anupam said he was in a happy mood until he received the heartbreaking news.“What is happening? In three days, we lost three amazing people. I have known all of them — Asrani, Piyush Pandey, and now Satish Shah,” he said in a trembling voice. “My smile hides a lot of sorrow. Every time I called him, I would be like, ‘Satish, mere Shah!’ and he would reply, ‘Mere Jahapana!’”He paused briefly, put on his glasses, and added, “Main chashma pehen leta hoon, warna yeh aansu jo hai theek nahi lagenge. He had great general knowledge. He would know about everything.”Fighting back tears, Anupam said, “Aise thodi na hota hai? Aise nahi jana hota hai. Aapko koi haq nahi hai, aise achanak jaana. Koi haq nahi hai. Madhu (Shah), I feel really bad. A big hug to you. Shabd hi nahi hai Satish Shah ke loss ke liye. He was the most amazing actor, human being, and person.”

Rakesh Bedi remembers his ‘dearest friend and classmate’

Actor Rakesh Bedi, who shared decades of camaraderie with Satish Shah, also posted a heartfelt video, visibly shaken and emotional.“Actually, I don’t know how to say this, friends. I am feeling very emotional. In fact, I am finding it difficult to even talk,” he said through tears. “My dearest friend, Satish Shah, he was my batchmate at FTII, my classmate. We did so many films together. He is no more. Today, he passed away.”Pausing to compose himself, he added, “The emotions I am feeling… it’s very difficult to put into words. One of the saddest days of my life, today. Satish Shah, I loved him a lot. Rest in peace, bro.”

Final journey of Satish Shah

The late actor’s mortal remains will be kept at his residence — Gurukul, 14 Kalanagar, Bandra (East), near Matoshree — from 10 am to 11 am on October 26 for friends and well-wishers to pay their last respects. His last rites will be held at Pawan Hans Cremation Ground, Vile Parle (West), at 12 pm.Satish Shah’s passing marks yet another heartbreaking farewell for Bollywood’s comedy fraternity — just days after Asrani’s demise. Together, they represented an era defined by warmth, wit, and unfiltered laughter — one that will never be forgotten.
