After ‘Ramayana,’ Sai Pallavi seems to have bagged another big-budget film. If reports are to be believed, Sai Pallavi will star in legendary Carnatic singer M.S. Subbulakshmi’s biopic.According to a report by Bollywood Hungama, Sai Pallavi will headline M.S. Subbulakshmi’s biopic, which will be helmed by Gowtam Tinnanuri. The actress has reportedly started taking Carnatic music lessons to prepare for the role. “While Gowtam is completing his research on the subject, Sai is watching all the footage she can lay her hands on to get to know the great singer,” the outlet reported. The project is said to go on floors later this year. However, the makers haven’t made any official announcement yet.M.S. Subbulakshmi, known for her work in Carnatic and devotional music, was the first musician to receive the Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian honor, in 1998. She began her career at just 10 years old with the Tamil song “Maragatha Vadivu” in 1926. A trailblazer, M.S. Subbulakshmi was the first woman to sing at the Madras Music Academy’s annual conference. From transformative bhajans to challenging pieces like the Melaragamalika, a composition spanning 72 ragas, she did it all. She also sang playback for movies in multiple languages, including Hindi, Telugu, Bengali, Gujarati, Sanskrit, and Urdu.

Sai Pallavi has recently joined the cast of ‘D55.’ The film, starring Dhanush, went on floors earlier this month. After ‘Maari 2,’ Dhanush and Sai Pallavi are teaming up again. The makers of ‘D55’ recently announced Sai Pallavi’s inclusion in the project. In a post shared on X, they said, “She’s about grace and strength—all at once. Welcoming everybody’s favorite @Sai_Pallavi92 on board #D55. The hit combo returns to the big screen.”On the other hand, Sai Pallavi also has Nitesh Tiwari’s ‘Ramayana’ in the pipeline. She will play the role of Sita in the film, which also features Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram and Yash as Ravana.
