Salman Khan’s comment on ‘Balochistan and Pakistan’ goes viral; netizens debate ‘deliberate or slip of the tongue’ |

Date:

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan is in the headlines again, this time for a comment he made at the Joy forum he attended this week. After all the chatter about Salman sharing the stage with Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan subsided, another video of the actor has ignited debate online.

Salman’s comment goes viral

A clip that seemed to have caught everyone’s attention saw Salman mentioning ‘Balochistan and Pakistan‘ separately while referring to expatriate communities working in the Middle East.In the viral clip, the actor can be heard saying, “Many people from our country have come here. People from Balochistan, people from Afghanistan, people from Pakistan — everyone works here.”

Video sparks debate

While some viewers dismissed it as an innocent slip of the tongue, others interpreted the comment as something more deliberate. The phrasing has since triggered widespread debate across social platforms. Sharing their thoughts on the comment, one user wrote, “I don’t know if it was a slip of tongue, but this is amazing! Salman Khan separates ‘people of Balochistan’ from ‘people of Pakistan.’” Another commented, “He knows exactly what he said…” while a third remarked humorously, “LOL, in a slip of tongue, who mentions two different countries?”Despite the online frenzy, several others defended the actor, arguing that the remark was likely unintentional and should not be over-analysed. One said, “We really shouldn’t expect geopolitical precision from Bollywood.”Neither Salman Khan nor his team has issued a clarification yet.

Salman’s next film

On the work front, Salman is currently shooting for his war film ‘Battle of Galwan’. Reports doing the rounds claim that elaborate security measures have been put in place for the Mumbai schedule of the shoot. Reports state that the film’s crew has been asked to surrender their phones and are given the devices back only at the end of the day. Those wanting to meet Khan have to undergo another round of security measures that include their identity verification.
