Veteran actor Satish Shah, known for his unforgettable performances in Sarabhai vs Sarabhai and Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro, passed away at the age of 74 on October 25. The actor, who had reportedly been unwell for the past few months, breathed his last due to kidney failure.Just hours after his demise, Mumbai’s P.D. Hinduja Hospital & Medical Research Centre issued an official statement confirming the news. The hospital revealed that an emergency call was received from Shah’s residence after he was found unresponsive. Their team immediately rushed to his home, beginning CPR in the ambulance itself.
“We are deeply saddened by the passing of veteran actor Mr. Satish Shah. Earlier today, the hospital received an emergency call regarding Mr. Shah’s health. An ambulance with a medical team was immediately sent to his residence, where he was found to be unresponsive. CPR was started in the ambulance itself and continued on arrival at P.D. Hinduja Hospital & Medical Research Centre. Final journey details
The late actor’s body will be kept at his residence—Gurukul, 14 Kalanagar, Bandra (East), near Matoshree—from 10 am to 11 am on October 26 for friends and well-wishers to pay their respects. His last rites will be performed at Pawan Hans cremation ground, S.V. Road, Vile Parle (West), Mumbai, at 12 pm.Satish Shah’s passing marks the end of an era in Indian entertainment.
