Shekhar Suman recalls: ‘It’s very eerie; He had become pale’
Reflecting on his recent interactions with Satish Shah, Shekhar Sumar told News18, “It’s very eerie that the whole of last month and the month before, Satish kept calling me and disconnecting the call. Each time, he sent a message that read, ‘Sorry, dialled by mistake.’ I told him, ‘I hope you make these mistakes more often, Satish.’ And he kept telling me that he would call me back.”
Suman added that their families were close, with their wives being friends, and that he was aware Shah had not been keeping well for some time. “I tried to speak to him, but a couple of times his phone was switched off. And the times he called me, he used to disconnect the call. I see this as a strange sort of connection. Why was he calling me, then disconnecting and texting me?”
Recalling their last meeting, Suman said, “I think I had last met him about a year ago, perhaps at a party. He had become pale, looking frail, with grey hair. He had changed a lot.” His reflections offer a touching glimpse into the personal side of Satish Shah, revealing not just the actor’s humour and charm, but also the quiet vulnerability of his final days.
