‘Saw him once or twice before the crime’: The Kerala assault survivor BREAKS silence for the FIRST time, questions is justice really equal? |

Date:

A Kerala assault survivor has broken her silence after an eight-year legal battle, expressing disappointment with the justice system and questioning equality before the law. While six accused were convicted, she highlighted suspicious turns in the trial, including the tampering of crucial evidence and rejected pleas to change the judge, leading to a loss of faith in the court.

Following the verdict in the actress assault case, the emotional posts shared by the survivor actress on social media have raised many questions about the law and justice. Now that this legal battle, which has lasted for more than eight years, has come to an end, the survivor actress says she has no regrets about the verdict. She has also openly stated that she has lost faith in this court for a long time. She stated that she was painfully aware of the fact that “not everyone is equal before the law in this country,” and expressed deep disappointment that her fundamental rights were not protected in this case.

Actress reflects on convictions and rejects false narratives

In her post, she said, “8 years, 9 months, 23 days… At the end of this journey of immense pain and heartache, I see a small ray of light. Six of the accused have been convicted.” She said she dedicates this verdict to those who criticized the case as a fabrication and called her a liar. At the same time, she has strongly denied the spread of information that the first accused is her personal driver. “He is neither my driver nor my employee. He was just someone hired by the production company for a shoot. I only saw him once or twice before the crime.”

South actress flags suspicious turns in trial process

The verdict may be disappointing to many, but she said she was not surprised and had noticed suspicious changes in the course of the case since late 2020. She noted that, particularly when it came to the issue of the main accused, the way the case was handled changed, and that the prosecution lawyers themselves realized this. Despite repeatedly approaching the High Court and the Supreme Court over the past few years, expressing a lack of confidence in this court, she expressed her regret that all petitions seeking to change the judge were rejected.

A survivor’s final word

Furthermore, when it was discovered that the memory card, the main evidence in the case, had been illegally opened three times while it was in court custody, she also pointed out that requests for a full investigation into the matter had been ignored for a long time. She also recalled that two initially appointed government prosecutors resigned, citing the hostile court environment. She said they privately told her, “Don’t expect justice from this court.” She said that her request to hold the trial in open court, in front of the public and the media, was also denied. However, she concluded her post by saying that she has not lost hope that there will be judges with a high sense of justice.Disclaimer: This article is for informational purposes only and is based on reported news of court proceedings and legal claims.
