Indian cricket star Smriti Mandhana has raised eyebrows and concern among fans after she chose to delete all her marriage-related posts from her Instagram handle, sparking widespread speculation among fans.

Smriti deletes all wedding pics

The move comes days after the hospitalisation of both her father Shriniwas Mandhana and fiancé Palash Muchhal. However, according to reports, Palash has since been discharged.

Jemimah also deletes posts

The deleted posts include her viral proposal video and other wedding-celebration content that had taken over social media last week. Adding to the confusion, Mandhana’s teammates Jemimah Rodrigues and Shreyanka Patil have also removed the video from their social media accounts, further sparking rumours among fans.

Fans question Palash

With Smriti’s posts now deleted, fans flooded Palash’s handle and took to the comments section of his engagement post and began questioning him, seeking clarity about the wedding. One ased, “She deleted every post related to you! What’s the matter?”Still another asked, “Smriti ne post kyu delete kr di, is everything ok?”Another shared their fears, saying, “Shaadi ke post kyu delete kar rahe… bhai mujhe dar lag raha hai tere liye.”Still another had a different take on the matter advising the singer, “Nazar is real, kindly don’t post anything regarding your wedding till it’s actually done. Our nazar is bad, that’s why your father-in-law is not well.”

Palak issues statement

Amid mounting online chatter, playback singer Palak Muchhal, Palash’s sister, issued a statement addressing the situation and urging restraint from fans. In a post on her Instagram stories, she said, “Due to Smriti’s dad’s health, Smriti and Palaash’s wedding has been put on hold. Would request all of you to respect the privacy of the families in this sensitive time.”While Mr. Mandhana remains under medical supervision, according to the family, his condition is stable.Smriti and Palash were set to take the plunge on Sunday, November 23. However, in a statement by her manager, Tuhin Mishra, it was confirmed “Smriti is very clear that she wants her father to recover first and then resume the wedding. It has been indefinitely postponed.”
