A video of Dhanush and Mrunal Thakur went viral on the internet which sparked rumours of the duo dating. This viral video saw Dhanush holding her hand and the duo engaging in a conversation where Mrunal also leaned in towards him to share a private talk. Furthermore, what added fuel to these rumours was that Dhanush had arrived in Mumbai to attend the screening of Mrunal’s latest film ‘Son Of Sardaar 2’ with Ajay Devgn. This video went viral on social media as a user shared it with the caption, “Dhanush and Mrunal Thakur are dating?” Thus, netizens started a discussion. However, amidst these rumours, a source has now confirmed that they are dating. News18 Showsha has quoted this source saying, “Yes, it’s true that they are dating. But it’s too new and they’ve no plans of making their relationship official before the public or the media. At the same time, they’re unfazed about going out and about and being spotted. Friends are truly rooting for them as they’re quite similar and compatible when it comes to their values, choices and thoughts.“Further elaborating on how they met and bonded, the source added, “The success of Sita Ramam opened doors for Mrunal in the South film industry. She has simultaneously been working in Mumbai too. Dhanush was earlier married to Rajinikanth’s daughter Aishwarya Rajinikanth for 18 years. They announced their separation in 2022 and officially filed for divorce in 2024. Dhanush has two sons with Aishwarya – Yatra and Linga.
