Just a day after multiple teaser clips from Marvel’s highly anticipated ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ were leaked online, another major Phase 6 title has reportedly fallen victim to piracy and leaks. The first trailer for ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’, marking Tom Holland’s return as the friendly neighbourhood hero, has been widely shared online, months before its official release. Within an hour of the trailer being leaked online, Sony triggered copyright takedowns across social media platforms. The swift takedowns have fuelled speculation that the footage was authentic and not one of the AI clips doing the rounds online.

‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ trailer leaked

According to details circulating online, the leaked ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ trailer was filmed while playing on a desktop. While some portions of the clip appear blacked out, the audio plays clearly. In the video, Tom appears to re-introduce himself as Peter Parker, thus picking up the story after the events of ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’.

Sadie Sink’s role in ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’

The video also seems to introduce Sadie Sink in a seemingly villainous role. In one of the most widely shared moments, her character warns Peter Parker, saying, “You’re a mess, Spider-Man. Don’t get in my way. Otherwise, it won’t just be your friends who don’t remember who Peter Parker is.”While some state that this could mean the actress will take on a villainous roles, others seem convinced that she will play Jean Grey, thus taking on the role of the mutant in the upcoming ‘X-Men’ film.

The footage is also said to depict Peter struggling to regain control of his powers, including a sequence where he wakes up trapped inside a web-like cocoon. Additional teases reportedly include the Red Ninja clan, Boomerang as an antagonist, and appearances by Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner and Jon Bernthal as the Punisher.

‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ recently wrapped filming and is now in post-production, with visual effects and editing still underway. The film is slated for a 2026 theatrical release as part of Marvel Cinematic Universe Phase 6. The leak is one among the severl recent trailer leaks that include three clips from ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ and a 5-minute clip from Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Odyssey’. Both films were set to release the clips with James Cameron’s ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’. Unlike ‘Avengers: Doomsday’, the ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ trailer was reportedly not intended to screen alongside ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’. However, Sony Pictures U.K. fuelled rumours on December 13 with a cryptic social media post hinting that a reveal could be on the horizon.Given the leaks, reports now state that Sony may now be forced to release an official trailer in early 2026 with the Super-Bowl, or even release one as early as January.

The film’s cast includes Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Liza Colon-Zayas and Tramell Tillman. The film is slated for a release on 31 July 2026.
