It’s official, SS Rajamouli’s much-anticipated action film starring Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra and Prithviraj Sukumaran, has been titled ‘Varanasi’. The title of the film, tentatively titled ‘GlobeTrotter’, was unveiled at the grand event, held at Ramoji Film City on large screens to thousands of cheering fans. After treating fans to first-look character posters of Priyanka and Prithviraj, Rajamouli unveiled superstar Mahesh Babu’s epic motion poster on the big screens.

In the clip, the actor was seen wielding a trishul while riding a charging bull amid a dusty road. In the background, the temples stood tall. The clip ends with the title ‘Varanasi’ appearing across the screen.

This title reveal comes weeks after rumours first leaked on social media that the film will be titled ‘Varanasi’. At the time, the name seemed to fit the film’s storyline, potentially set around or connected to the holy city.In a tweet on Saturday, Rajamouli confirmed, “The title of the film will be revealed along with a visual to the world… Once it airs on the big screen at the #GlobeTrotter event, we will make it live online”

Video of the reveal has been widely shared across social platforms and official channels. Reaction on X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram ranged from stunned admiration to speculation about the film’s plot that is rumoured to see the three characters on a treasure hunt of sorts.
