Sunidhi Chauhan reveals the true nature of singing reality shows: ‘It’s all fake, makers manipulate contestants’ | Hindi Movie News

Date:

Sunidhi Chauhan, one of the top singers in the Indian music industry, has opened up about the true nature of singing reality shows. She recently discussed her experiences as a judge on reality shows and shared some surprising insights into these shows.
Speaking on Raj Shamani’s podcast, Sunidhi revealed that nowadays, nothing on these shows is real, it’s all fake. She mentioned that she enjoyed the first two years of participating in reality shows, starting with Indian Idol.
Sunidhi noted that back then, reality shows were authentic. “There was no emotional drama, just fun, and the performance you heard was the same as what was broadcast on TV,” she said. However, she noted that now everything on TV is edited and manipulated. Makers aim to present every singer in a positive light, leading to confusion among viewers when a performer who seemed good gets eliminated in the next episode.

She admitted that these practices troubled her, which led her to stop participating in such shows. She also revealed that one of the most shocking and disturbing aspects was when the makers instructed her to promote specific contestants, regardless of their actual performance. This manipulation, she said, is part of the business strategy to benefit from a contestant’s fame and talent even after the show ends.

In the same conversation, Sunidhi also expressed her admiration for Arijit Singh and his distinct approach to music. She noted that during concerts, Arijit appears completely at ease, as if he’s in the comfort of his own home, and remains unaffected by the audience’s attention. Sunidhi praised Arijit’s humility, emphasizing that his lack of self-glorification helps him stay grounded and focused solely on his passion for music. “He doesn’t think of himself as Arijit Singh. He doesn’t have a high opinion of himself. He just wants to create music. He doesn’t seek to be heard; he wants to sing,” she remarked.
