Teja Sajja’s Mirai crosses USD 1.5 million mark in North America | Telugu Movie News

Teja Sajja hit gold when his last film HanuMan turned out to be a money spinner at the box office not only in India but across the globe. The success of it made him even bolder with his choice and he followed it up with Mirai directed by Karthik Gattamneni and co-starring Shriya Saran, Ritika Nayak and Manoj Kumar Manchu. Mirai is a fantasy adventure and a sci-fi action thriller that fuses Indian mythology with contemporary super-hero storytelling. Rooted in ancient Indian folklore, the film revolves around 9 sacred scriptures which are said to be created by Emperor Ashoka after the Kalinga War. The film in India has minted Rs 44.25 crore with Telugu version contributing Rs 35.4 crore and Hindi version contributing Rs 8.05 crore and rest coming in from Tamil , Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam version. The film has not only connected with the audience in India but also in North America which has become the biggest market for Telugu films outside of India. For its premiere shows the film minted USD 401,000 going past HanuMan’s premiere day collection of USD 364,000. On its first day the film collected USD 376,000 and on its second day the collections jumped to USD 564,000-it also became the biggest second day for a Telugu film of 2025. And for its third day the film had minted USD 225,000 till early morning, thus taking the overall collection of the film beyond USD 1.5 million mark. If the trend continues it will go past Dulquer Salmaan and Kalyani Priyadarshan’s Lokah-Part 1 Chandra’s total collection in the circuit well within the first week. Tejja will be next seen in Zombie Reddy 2 which is expected to be an international film, he will follow it up with the second part of HanuMan series which will see Rishabh Shetty play Lord Hanuman and there is the sequel to Mirai in the people line as well.
