Naga Chaintya, Sai Pallavi starrer love story ‘Thandel’ has released worldwide on February 7. The movie has released in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. The pre-release buzz of the movie has been strong and it has managed to generate a very strong advance sales for the day 1 opening. Infact, it can end up being Naga Chaitanya, Sai Pallavi’s biggest opener, much better than their last film together ‘Love Story’.
The past few films of Chaitanya have shown some poor box office numbers, however, despite that, ‘Thandel’ has managed to get his career-best advance booking. But the film will need to collect more from the walk-ins and current booking. It will have to go above Rs 60 crore gross worldwide in order to emerge as a huge hit.
This shall happen due to positive word of mouth which is already there due to Chay and Sai Pallavi’s chemistry. Meanwhile, the weekend number will play a huge impact. However, the film can already touted as Chaitanya’s biggest solo grosser and one hopes that the numbers do get better over the weekend.
