Twinkle Khanna expressed her frustration with constantly being asked what it feels like to be a ‘star wife.’ In her latest column for The Times of India, she shared that she has learned to respond to the question with words of wisdom.
In her column, she wrote: “Sitting for an interview, I am asked, ‘You are a star wife; tell us what it’s like?’ While my first instinct is to bite the reporter’s index finger, I reply, ‘I am not sure that an entity like ‘star wife’ exists, unless, in the way that Manglik women marry trees, because of some Rahu Ketu ka dosh, you end up marrying Sirius or worse, Halley’s Comet.’”
Twinkle also shared how, after 20 years of being asked the same annoying question, she has developed a calm attitude and the ability to respond with insightful remarks. She also mentioned that people often question or blame her for the differences in her and Akshay Kumar’s political views, as if they believe she can control him like a child with simple requests.
The actress married Akshay Kumar on January 17, 2001, and they have two children: son Aarav and daughter Nitara. In 2022, she pursued a Master’s in Fiction Writing at Goldsmiths, University of London, and recently completed her degree.
