UAE-India trade boost: UIBC signs strategic MoUs, to deepen CEPA and state-level investments

The UAE-India Business Council (UIBC) has signed a series of strategic agreements to strengthen industry collaborations and expand trade and investment flows between India and the UAE.As part of three separate pacts, UIBC and the UAE-India CEPA Council (UICC) agreed to enhance institutional collaboration, ensuring greater coherence in advancing the objectives of the UAE-India Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) and deepening the bilateral economic partnership, PTI reported.UIBC also entered into an agreement with the Services Export Promotion Council (SEPC) to boost cooperation across priority services sectors, including logistics, healthcare, IT/ITES, education, tourism, and engineering. The collaboration aims to promote both B2B and B2G engagements while addressing market access challenges.Additionally, UIBC signed a pact with regional chambers of commerce — including the Bombay Industries Association, Calicut Chamber of Commerce & Industry, and Gujarat Chamber of Commerce & Industry — to leverage regional strengths, institutionalise CEPA facilitation at the grassroots level, increase industry participation, and strengthen state-level trade and investment linkages.Abdulnasser Alshaali, Ambassador of the UAE to India, highlighted the strategic significance of the bilateral partnership. “With the UAE-India Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) as our foundation, we are unlocking new opportunities that will redefine global trade flows and strengthen the economic future of both nations,” he said.
