Director Vignesh Shivan took to social media to share a deeply emotional post, reflecting on love, family, and gratitude, while coming to terms with his upcoming film Love Insurance Kompany missing its planned Diwali release. Marking the 10th anniversary of his 2015 hit Naanum Rowdy Dhaan, which starred Vijay Sethupathi and now-wife Nayanthara, the filmmaker penned a message about finding peace even when things don’t go as planned.Sharing a series of pictures from his Diwali celebrations with Nayanthara, Chiranjeevi, his children, and actor Rana Daggubati, Vignesh wrote, “Ten years of Naanum Rowdy Dhaan today October 21st 2015 🙂 ❤️ A life blessed with a lot of miracles started from this lovely day… I had dreamt of this day so differently — a day when Love Insurance Kompany would have reached all your hearts. But life, in its quiet wisdom, taught me something far more beautiful today. Even without the big moment, I find myself smiling — truly, peacefully.”
“You don’t have to ‘win’ to be happy”
The filmmaker reflected on how happiness can be found in the simplest moments of love and togetherness. “We chase milestones thinking they’ll only make us happy. But happiness is not such a tough destination! If you keep the rules for it simple and silly 🙂 It can be a gentle pause from everything else that kept you busy,” he wrote.Vignesh added that true happiness often lies in everyday joys — “A warm hug from your loving wife, the innocent laughter from your babies, your family and friends’ unconditional love… all these are as good as the big wins we save our happiness for. I have learnt — you don’t have to ‘win’ to be happy. Sometimes dreams take a different route — but God always, in His quiet way, finds a method to make you smile.”
A Diwali of gratitude and togetherness
Vignesh and Nayanthara celebrated Diwali in Hyderabad with Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna, Venkatesh Daggubati, Rana Daggubati, and Sreeleela. Chiranjeevi shared glimpses of the star-studded gathering online, showing the festive warmth as the group exchanged gifts and smiles.Concluding his heartfelt note, Vignesh wrote, “A heart that feels grateful, even when things don’t go as planned, is the heart that’s blessed, filled with love and acceptance. Nenacchadhu nadandhaalum, nadakkalanaalum! Nalladhe nadakkum nu nambuvom… Believe that. Life is beautiful. God is great. ❤️”
