Vijay Sethupathi dismisses rumors of being part of Ramayana |

Amidst speculation linking him to the epic film ‘Ramayana’ as Vibhishan, actor Vijay Sethupathi has officially denied his involvement. The highly anticipated two-part adaptation, slated for Diwali 2026 and 2027 releases, features Ranbir Kapoor as Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, and Yash as Ravana.

Vijay Sethupathi has emerged as one of the most sought-after actors in the country, thanks to his exceptional acting chops. It is no wonder that every other filmmaker and actor wants to work with him. This has also led to a rise in speculations on his name being attached to multiple big-budget projects, including ‘Ramayana’.A recent report by Movies Singapore said that the makers of ‘Ramayana’ are considering Vijay Sethupathi’s name for the role of Vibhishan. In the Hindu epic, Ramayana, Vibhishana is the younger brother of Ravana, the King of Lanka. Vijay Sethupathi has now dismissed rumors of being part of the project. Talking to Bollywood Hungama, the actor stated that he is not a part of ‘Ramayana’. Surprised by the rumors, he said, “No, I am not a part of this project. No clue where this is coming from.”

‘Ramayana’ is an adaptation of the Hindu epic. The upcoming film has Ranbir Kapoor playing the role of Lord Rama, the seventh avatar of Vishnu. Sai Pallavi has roped in to play Goddess Sita, an avatar of Goddess Lakshmi. ‘KGF’ star Yash will be seen in the role of Ravana, the s ten-headed demon king of Lanka.
