Formula E has changed the dates for the 2027 Monaco E-Prix after approval from the FIA World Motor Sport Council. The famous race in Monaco will now be held on May 1 and 2, 2027, instead of the earlier planned May 15 and 16. The change has been made to avoid a clash with the World Endurance Championship (WEC) and to fit better with Monaco’s events calendar. The updated calendar also confirms a record 21-race season, which will mark the first campaign of Formula E’s new GEN4 era.

One of the biggest changes in the 2026-27 Formula E calendar is the new date for the Monaco E-Prix. The race weekend on the iconic Circuit de Monaco will now take place on May 1 and 2, 2027. It was originally scheduled for May 15 and 16, but Formula E decided to move it after discussions with the FIA to avoid a scheduling conflict with the World Endurance Championship.The 2026-27 season will be the longest in Formula E history with 21 races across 13 events. New race format for GEN4 era
Formula E will also introduce a new race format from the 2026-27 season. Every double-header weekend will feature the traditional E-Prix and a new shorter race called E-PrixUnleashed. The new format has been created to showcase the full performance of the GEN4 car, while giving fans a mix of strategy, speed and exciting wheel-to-wheel racing over the same weekend.
