‘Ikkis’ features Agastya Nanda, grandson of Amitabh Bachchan, and Simar Bhatia, niece of Akshay Kumar, in a touching biographical war drama inspired by the heroic journey of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, PVC. This film also serves as the final screen appearance for veteran icon Dharmendra. Anil Sharma, who directed Gadar, penned an emotional note after watching ‘Ikkis’, remembering Dharmendra. He wrote on X (formerly Twitter), “Saw Dharam ji’s last film yesterday… deeply touched. Watched him with teary eyes …what a role, what a performer. Cast and release details
In the movie, Agastya Nanda plays Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal. Dharmendra takes on the part of Arun’s father, retired Brigadier ML Khetarpal. It also features Jaideep Ahlawat, Simar Bhatia, Sikandar Kher, and Vivaan Shah in pivotal roles. Ikkis is set to hit the big screen on January 1, 2026.
Dharmendra’s passing
The veteran actor Dharmendra passed away on November 24 at the age of 89. He faced health problems due to old age in recent months, leading to a stay at Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital. Once released, he got care at home, passing away just 12 days later.
