Aamir Khan’s intimate wedding to longtime partner Gauri Spratt on July 5, 2026, has been one of the most talked-about celebrity events that has taken place of late. While the ceremony was attended by close family members, his children, Ira, Junaid, Azad, mother, and close friends from the fraternity, fans were quick to notice the absence of the actor’s former wives, Reena Dutta and Kiran Rao, from the ceremony. The question soon became a major talking point on social media, especially given Aamir’s long-standing cordial relationship with both of them.In an interview with Rediff. com, Aamir Khan’s close friend Amin Hajee revealed the reason why Aamir’s ex wives were absent from his wedding. He shared, “Kiran was in the UK during the wedding, while her son Azad returned to Mumbai to be a part of Aamir’s big day. He further added, “Kiran was in the UK at the time; Azad flew back for the wedding. I think some absences are natural. Sometimes giving people their space is also a gesture of love and respect. You don’t want to make someone uncomfortable on such an important occasion. But they continue to share a healthy relationship. Through the Paani Foundation, Aamir, Satya (Satyajeet Bhatkal), Kiran and Reena still work together professionally.”He also shared how Aamir had always supported Reena, “When Reena’s father passed away, Aamir asked Kareem and me if we could help. Reena was travelling at the time, and Aamir stayed until the final rites,” he revealed. Amin also spoke about the distinct personalities of Gauri Spratt, Kiran Rao and Reena Dutta, highlighting the unique role each has played in Aamir Khan’s life.Reflecting on Reena’s unwavering support, he said, “Reena was like a rock. She stepped in to produce Lagaan because she knew Aamir needed her support. Whenever there were disagreements over budgets or production, Aamir never dismissed her views. He would patiently explain why certain decisions had to be made for the sake of the film. There was a great deal of mutual respect between them. When Aamir told us that he and Reena were separating, I was heartbroken.“Not only about Aamir Khan’s ex wives, but he also shared about how Aamir’s children addresses Gauri. He pointed out that the family’s acceptance of Gauri was a gradual process rather than something that happened overnight.Explaining this, Amin said, “People often ask me what Aamir’s children think of her. The truth is, this wasn’t a sudden relationship. Aamir and Gauri have known each other for many years. She is a friend of Imran Khan. Gauri was introduced to Aamir’s children Ira, Junaid, Azad gradually. Aamir has been extremely sensitive to every relationship involved. If you look at the wedding photographs, you’ll see everyone together: Azad, Quinn, Aamir’s mother, Gauri’s father Bob, her aunt Radha, and the rest of the family. It reflected their effort to make everyone feel included and valued.”
