Veteran Bollywood actor Dharmendra passed away on November 24, just ahead of his 90th birthday. Remembering the late actor, here’s a throwback to the time when, in 2021, Dharmendra shared a hilarious video featuring himself and superstar Rajinikanth from their 1984 film, ‘Insaaf Kaun Karega’. The actor took to his X handle to post a fun moment from the film, expressing his fondness for the Tamil superstar and their time working together.
Dharmendra and Rajinikanth’s comical scene
In the video Dharmendra shared on June 3, he is seen as a rugged truck driver stopped by Rajinikanth, who plays a strict police officer. They engage in a fierce interaction where they exchange some fiery dialogues. The ‘Yamla Pagla Deewana’ actor is seen yelling at Rajinikanth for stopping his truck. After a couple more exchanges, Rajinikanth asks, “Mujhe Kung Fu, Karate aataa hai, tumko kya aataa hai?” (I know Kung Fu, Karate. What do you know?) To which Dharmendra wittily replies, “Mujhe aloo parathe aate hai,” (I know how to make potato parathas). The hilarious punchline ends with both actors bursting into laughter and sharing a warm hug, making the entire scene comical at the end.
Dharmendra’s fond memories
Sharing the video, Dharmendra captioned it, “Rajini a darling friend, a great thumbs-up actor… A funny scene with him… hope you will enjoy it.”

Dharmendra further added, “Lovely clip, full of fun… those were beautiful days… and some of my comedy scenes… I used to write myself. I hope they will understand my mixture of Hindi and Punjabi.”‘Insaaf Kaun Karega’, starred Dharmendra, Rajnikanth, Jaya Prada, Madhavi, Pran among others.
Dharmendra’s demise
Earlier in November, Dharmendra was admitted to Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital due to breathlessness and was under continuous medical observation. Dharmendra’s family, including his wife Hema Malini and daughter Esha Deol, reassured the public that he was stable and recovering. However, on November 24, the actor breathed his last at his residene in Juhu, at the age of 89. The industry mourned his demise and still is trying to process his loss.
