PUNE: One of the accused in the Lohagad Fort murder case, Siya Goyal, told Pune Rural Police during custodial interrogation that she disliked her fiancé, Ketan Agarwal, because he wore a wig, investigators said on Friday.Ketan’s father, Vishal Agarwal, confirmed that his son used a small hair patch and said Siya and her family had been informed about it before the engagement.“Wearing a wig cannot be a reason to kill my son,” Agarwal told reporters. As part of the ongoing investigation, Pune Rural Police on Friday questioned Siya’s brother, Sahil Goyal, at the district police headquarters.According to investigators, they are examining whether Sahil was aware of Siya’s relationship with co-accused Chetan Chaudhary and whether he had informed any family members about it.Police said their probe has revealed that the Goyal family became aware of Siya’s closeness with Chaudhary during a community cricket tournament in January. Investigators believe the significant difference in the families’ financial backgrounds led Siya’s family to arrange her marriage with Agarwal.During questioning, Siya allegedly told investigators that she did not like Agarwal because he wore a wig. When asked why she did not tell her family that she did not want to marry him, she reportedly said she did not want to hurt them.According to police, Siya further claimed that she believed plotting to eliminate Ketan by pushing him into a gorge at Lohagad Fort was easier than confronting or disappointing her family. Investigators are verifying the statement as part of the ongoing probe.
