Veteran actor Dharmendra was discharged from Breach Candy Hospital on Wednesday morning, days after being admitted for routine tests. His family and doctor confirmed that the 89-year-old will continue his recovery at home under medical supervision. Amid speculation about his health, the family issued a statement requesting privacy and reassuring fans that the beloved actor is doing well.In their statement, they also reminded fans of Dharmendra’s signature warmth, writing, “He loves you,” echoing the way he often ends his Instagram messages to followers.
Doctor confirms home recovery
Dharmendra’s treating doctor, Dr. Pratit Samdani, said, “Dharmendra ji was discharged around 7:30 am. His treatment and management with recovery will continue at home.”The doctor also added that the family has opted for home-based care to ensure the actor’s comfort and stability during recovery.
‘It has not been an easy time for me,’ says Hema Malini
Sharing her thoughts, Hema Malini admitted that the past few days have been emotionally draining. “It has not been an easy time for me,” she told Subhash K Jha. “Dharamji’s health is a matter of great concern for us. His children are sleepless. I can’t afford to be weak, too many responsibilities. But yes, I am happy he’s back home. We are relieved he is out of hospital. He needs to be among the people he loves. Baki toh sab oopar wale ke haath mein hai (Everything else is in the hands of the Almighty). Please pray for us,” she concluded.
Industry colleagues visit Dharmendra at home
Dharmendra’s cousin and Ziddi director Guddu Dhanoa visited the actor at his Juhu residence and told reporters, “All I can say is that he is doing fine. I can’t say anything further.”Filmmaker Anil Sharma, who directed Dharmendra in Apne (2007) alongside sons Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol, also visited the family. “He has come home. We all should pray for his recovery. He is a fighter, he is a hero and he will be alright,” Sharma told PTI after meeting the veteran actor.Amitabh Bachchan, known for his iconic on-screen pairing with Dharmendra as Jai and Veeru in Sholay, was also seen personally driving to the actor’s residence to meet him after his discharge from the hospital.As the industry and fans continue to send love and prayers, the Deol family is focusing on ensuring that the legendary star recovers peacefully and comfortably at home.
