Veteran Hollywood actor James Handy, best known for his roles in films including ‘Jumanji’ and ‘Top Gun: Maverick’, has sadly passed away. He was 81.According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the actor was brutally murdered at his home in Tarzana, California on Wednesday, The New York Times reports. As per reports, officers responded to a disturbing 911 call. Authorities said the caller reportedly told dispatchers, “I am the son of man, I just killed the man of sin.”When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered Handy unconscious in the front yard of the property with multiple stab wounds to the chest, police stated. Emergency responders transported Handy to a nearby hospital, where he was later declared dead.As per reports, Handy was allegedly murdered by a man identified as 44-year-old Michael Gledhill. He approached police and indicated that he was responsible for the attack. Investigators have identified Gledhill as the son of Handy’s girlfriend.Surveillance footage from the scene show visuals of a man casually walking past the suburban home. Photos from the crime scene also showed pieces of clothing left behind in the front of the house.At the time of the murder, he was residing at his mother’s residence.Police subsequently arrested Gledhill on suspicion of murder. The circumstances leading up to the fatal stabbing remain under investigation, and police have not yet disclosed a possible motive.Authorities said his bail has been set at $2 million.Handy enjoyed a career in Hollywood spanning several decades and had nearly 150 films to his credits. Throughout his career, he appeared in a wide range of film and television projects, including hit TV shows like ‘The X-Files’, ‘NYPD Blue’, ‘Seinfeld’ and numerous other productions.The investigation into his death remains ongoing.
