Canacona: The fisheries department has come up with a plan to develop Saleri village in Canacona into an integrated modern fishing village.Under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana, the project includes the repair of the existing fishing ramp, re-construction of a net mending shed and desilting activities, along with the installation of floating jetting measuring 40×3 metres approximately.The plan provides for a floating pontoon and gangway facilities along the Saleri river to ease boat access and operations. The total built-up area proposed is about 140sqm, with ramp development and refurbishment covering over 200sqm.The project is currently under consideration for a NOC from GCZMA.
